  • Tornado’s boiler to return to GermanyThe A1 Steam Locomotive Trust today announced that Tornado’s boiler would be returning to its manufacturer, DB Meiningen, in Germany, following the discovery that more extensive repairs to Tornado’s firebox were needed than originally anticipated when the winter maintenance was planned.

  • Bids called for four Crossrail StationsBids have been invited for a further £250m of Crossrail contracts to design and build four stations. The contracts are for main station works at Bond Street (Lot 1), Tottenham Court Road (Lot 2), Liverpool Street (Lot 3) and Whitechapel (Lot 4).

A third-party investor funded 75% of the €30m deal, which adds Shimms steel coil and Habbi(II)nss covered wagons to Touax’s fleet of 8 200 vehicles.
